Senior Accountant

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely execution of general accounting responsibilities including, but not limited to financial reporting, reconciliations and other projects as required. Support the Corporate Controller with auditors, external accountants, and other financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation of month end journal entries and transfer pricing
  • Support the preparation of all financial analysis and reports, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies
  • Support annual budget process and periodic forecast update
  • Continuously review current actual results and trend for comparison to budget and recommend impacts to forecasts
  • Coordinate and manage cash management including assisting in developing a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism
  • Evaluate/implement the introduction of new programs/strategies and advise on the impact to planning and regulatory action
  • Manage and file international sales and local taxes and information returns
  • Coordinate corporate tax compliance and support external tax accountants
  • Support ERP implementation and continuous process improvement/development
  • Review and support junior accountants in daily operational accounting
  • Complete ad hoc and special projects as required by management

Qualifications:

  •  A professional Accounting Designation
  • University Degree, preferably Business/Accounting
  • 3 years’ experience performing external audit and/or general accounting functions including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation or support
  • Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards – exposure to US GAAP an asset
