Brian Moreland attended the University of Calgary, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1980. Brian has over twenty ﬁve years of diverse oil and gas experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and the Canadian Arctic. Brian was appointed the VP Engineer-
ing for Poco Petroleum in 1996; a position he held until Poco was acquired by Burlington Resources in 1999. At Burlington, Brian served as the VP, Engineering and Production: VP, Southern Business Unit; and VP, Strategy and Planning. Upon the acquisition of Burlington by ConocoPhillips in 2006, Brian was the Director of Integration.
Brian’s professional memberships include The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Petroleum Society (CIM) – Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum, The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). Brian is a past Member of both the CAPP Research and Innovation Committee and the Board of Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada.
