Services Manager – USA

Position Summary:

The Services Manager – USA will lead our USA Services team and be responsible for the technical services business and activities in the USA region. The Services Manager will have line management responsibilities for technical services staff, and be responsible for client satisfaction, quality delivery of our solutions, business development for consulting and software products, as well as effective utilization of the services team. As part of a larger global organization, responsibilities also include supporting global technical services initiatives and enforcing departmental standards.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership and effective line management of staff to influence employee commitment to the organization, to the team, and to their job:
    • Assess staff performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback
    • Exemplify and support the company culture and be an effective role model for the services team
    • Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls
    • Place team members in situations where they will be challenged, and can succeed and expand capabilities
    • Drive continuous employee improvement and key employee retention
  • Plan, direct, and oversee fiscal health of the technical services team
  • Ensure high quality delivery of solutions and support to our clients
  • Actively promote chargeable consulting solutions to assist our clients
  • Effectively utilize services team members, balancing the needs for revenue, sales support, individual growth
  • Provide necessary management reporting, which includes: revenue forecasts, resource assignments, utilization, project status summaries
  • Assist in the establishment and institutionalization of standard business practices

  • Strong understanding of the upstream planning space within Oil and Gas
  • Ability to manage and oversee diverse project implementations
  • Discipline to follow and enforce established processes, while maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to develop trust with client-side users and management
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional and global teams
  • Organizational and delegation skills to balance multiple priorities and a heavy workload


  • University Degree, preferably Bachelor’s in Science or Business
  • 5+ years professional experience in the upstream planning space and/or professional services
  • MBA, or other advanced management training, desired


Some travel can be expected, (20 to 50%)
