Human Resources Manager – USA

Location: Houston

Report to: EVP Corporate Services

Position Summary:

This Senior HR professional will collaborate with US operational leaders to drive business results through strategic program development and execution of applicable human resources strategies. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring delivery of all HR activities for our US offices, and ensuring compliance of process and policy. The candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering the US HR strategy and working closely with senior leadership and other HR business partners in the Calgary office on execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage US recruiting, testing and interviewing program; counsel managers on candidate selection; conduct and analyze exit interviews; recommend changes
  • Prepare current and new US employees for work assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and, onboarding programs, including training
  • Support the corporate compensation strategy by contributing to periodic pay surveys; schedule and conduct job evaluations; monitor and schedule individual pay actions; implement pay structure revisions
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting workplace investigations, and maintaining records
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Contribute to HR and Corporate team effort by supporting:
    • Company, employee and community communications
    • Charitable giving
    • Performance management and improvement systems
    • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns regarding employees

  • 8+ years in a HR Business Partner role supporting departmental leaders and business strategy in a global environment
  • Proven experience delivering strategic HR initiatives; succession planning, performance and talent management, employee engagement across a diverse geographical region
  • Experience in delivering presentations and communication to employees, Line Managers and Leadership


Some travel can be expected, (20%) to Denver office and Corporate HQ
